(LĪHU‘E)– The Kaua‘i County Council today launched its “Kaua‘i County Council” social media page on Facebook. The Council Facebook page will broaden the Council’s communication with the community and its stakeholders in real time, providing another outlet for the community to become more aware of and involved in the County’s legislative process.
Information posted on the Council’s Facebook page will include, but is not limited to, Council and Committee Meeting notices, public hearing notices, tentative schedules for specific agenda items (i.e. items being taken first on the agenda), and photos of certificate presentations.
“The Council looks forward to creating a page that will likely become the “go-to” for members of the public to get information related to Council business,” said Council Chair Jay Furfaro. “We have found that people of all ages are using social media to access information efficiently and quickly, and Facebook has become the people’s choice as the “coconut wireless network” to learn information.”
The public is encouraged to follow the Council’s Facebook page to learn more about the County Council and the legislative process by liking “Kaua‘i County Council” on Facebook.com.
