(KAPA‘A) – The Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupono Builders are
announcing that Kaehulua Road, commonly known as Skeleton Road in Kapa‘a, will be closed Feb. 8 to
Feb. 13, weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
This closure is necessary for road resurfacing work.
Due to the steep and narrow conditions of the road, Kaehulua Road will be closed to all thru
traffic. The road will only be open to residents who live on Kaehulua Road. Residents on Kaehulua Road
have been given advanced notice of the closure and resurfacing work.
All other traffic will be detoured through Ka‘apuni Road.
Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use
alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed
in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at both ends of the work zone to direct traffic.
Anyone with questions may contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki at the
County of Kaua‘i at 808-241-4845.
