(Oahu)– The Hawaiʻi Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) has established a $35,000 endowed scholarship at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Shidler College of Business. This endowment will fund scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in accounting and/or finance at the College.
“FEI Hawaiʻi is a proud supporter of education,” says Randall Kawano, the organization’s treasurer (BBA, 1981). “For many years, we have supported the Shidler College of Business through annual scholarship donations, as well as Business Night awards. The establishment of an endowment fund allows us to support accounting and finance students in perpetuity. I’m happy to say that we’ve had overwhelming support from our membership.”
For over 20 years, the FEI Hawaiʻi Chapter has been bringing senior-level financial executives together to exchange ideas, engage in professional development and work to improve Hawai‘i’s economy. Its mission is to advance the success of senior-level financial executives, their organizations and the profession. Through its academic program, FEI Hawaiʻi has provided mentors, scholarships and built a partnership with the academic community.
“We are grateful to the members and officers of the FEI Hawaiʻi Chapter for their continuous support,” says Shidler College Dean Vance Roley. “They have provided more than $20,000 in annual scholarships since 1996, and have consistently sponsored the Dean’s Professional Development award at the College’s annual Business Night event for the past 20 years.”
