(Kaua’i) – County officials announce that Lyle Tabata will serve as the acting county engineer effective immediately.
Tabata previously served as the Deputy County Engineer under Larry Dill’s leadership since Dec. 1, 2010. Dill recently left the county to serve as the Kaua‘i district engineer for the state Department of Transportation Highways Division.
“We are very grateful for the leadership and experience that Larry brought to the Department of Public Works, and while we will miss him here at the county, we will continue to work closely with him on transportation-related matters,” stated Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr. “The Department of Public Works has an abundance of active projects and initiatives, and I am confident in Lyle’s ability to continue the department’s forward movement. We truly appreciate Lyle’s willingness to step up.”
The Department of Public Works consists of the following seven divisions: Administration; Automotive Repair; Building; Engineering; Highways and Road Construction; Solid Waste Management; and Wastewater Management.
