(Maui) – The County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns’ Office on Aging will sponsor the “Better Choices, Better Health” Diabetes Self-Management workshop series. The series includes six weekly sessions that meet on Wednesdays from June 25 through July 30, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The workshops will be held at Kaiser Permanente’s Wailuku Clinic, located at 80 Mahalani St. in Wailuku.
“Better Choices, Better Health” is an evidence-based educational health aging program designed to help people manage their diabetes as well as their overall health through achievable action plans for improving nutrition, exercise, relaxation, communication skills, medication management and more.
Participants receive a book, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions,” and a relaxation CD, “Time for Healing.”
Cost is $10 for individuals 60 years and older and for caregivers of any age. The cost is $35 for participants under the age of 60. Scholarships are available.
