(Oahu)– Mayor Rick Blangiardi is calling on all O’ahu residents to actively participate in the annual Community Survey (NCS) of residents across the City and County of Honolulu. This collaborative research effort, conducted in partnership with the National Research Center at Polco, aims to capture diverse opinions of O’ahu residents on pressing topics, new ideas and initiatives, and other important issues.
The survey, managed by the Office of the City Auditor, plays a pivotal role in shaping the city’s future. Following the survey, the Office of the City Auditor compiles a comprehensive report that presents the findings of this extensive research.
“The annual survey is an opportunity for us to learn more about the concerns of our communities, but it also allows us to receive feedback about programs and initiatives that our residents feel are working well,” said Mayor Blangiardi. “Mahalo to our residents who participate, and a special thanks to the Office of the City Auditor for their efforts in helping inform the decisions that impact the quality of life for everyone on O’ahu.”
“O’ahu residents, we want to hear from you! Honolulu’s 2024 National Community Survey allows your voice to be heard on issues important to our community,” said Troy Shimasaki, the acting City Auditor. “Last year, over 800 O’ahu residents participated in this survey, and results were shared with local government officials and stakeholders. We look forward to hearing from you!”
The survey is conveniently accessible online at https://polco.us/Honolulu24op. Once they have answered the questions, residents will be asked to provide their ZIP code to confirm where they live. This allows the City to be sure they are hearing from each person only once, and to see which general area of the city respondents live in. Responses will remain anonymous, and personal information will be securely stored by Polco.
Residents can choose to provide an email address to Polco, which will allow the City to easily contact them with future questions. This service is free to all residents. Polco is committed to a strict privacy policy—they only share anonymous, combined results. Participants’ individual data and votes are never shared.
Honolulu residents have until January 7, 2025 to participate in this very important survey.
