(Honolulu) – Moms, you do so much for others! Now it’s your turn for some well-deserved attention and fun! Mothers of all ages and stages are invited to “Mom-O-Rama,” a free celebration of everything about moms and their health, Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the HMSA Center in Pearl City.
Moms can enjoy a mini massage and light pupu, and network with other women through fun activities and “talk story.” Games and giveaways will include a chance to win a FitBit fitness tracking device. Learn about the Moms In Hawaii supportive online/offline community, participate in a health assessment through HMSA, and more. Children are welcome, too! There’ll be activity stations especially for the keiki.
“The goal is to encourage moms to connect with each other and to take care of themselves,” said Esme Infante, editor and chief executive mom, Moms in Hawaii. “We hope this Mom-O-Rama – the first of five that Moms In Hawaii and HMSA are sponsoring across the state this year – will help more moms feel part of a larger community of other women, while also raising awareness of the importance of their health.”
“Juggling all the responsibilities that come with being a mom is hard work,” said Elisa Yadao, HMSA’s senior vice president of Consumer Experience. “And when you’re so busy taking care of others, it’s easy to put your own health on hold. We want to help moms refocus on their own health, learn how other moms are doing it, and share their own experiences and expertise.”
Registration is strongly encouraged, as space is limited. Register on MomsInHawaii.com.
Information is available also on the Moms In Hawaii Facebook page. The HMSA Center in Pearl City is at Pearl City Gateway, 1132 Kuala Street, Suite 400, between Babies R Us and Longs. The social-media hashtag for this event series is #MomORamaHI.
