(Honolulu)—Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced that he has appointed Nicole A. Velasco as executive secretary of the Neighborhood Commission Office.
“This office is very important to our community, and I’m confident that Ms. Velasco will manage it effectively,” Caldwell said.
The office provides administrative and technical support services to the Neighborhood Commission and Oahu’s 33 neighborhood boards, which encourage and facilitate citizen participation in government decision-making.
Velasco is a government affairs specialist at Ashford and Wriston, LLP, and has worked as an assistant analyst for the State Office of the Auditor, a researcher for the State House of Representatives, and a producer and office manager for a New York music production company. She is a graduate of Princeton University and Punahou School.
