(Honolulu)– Social Media Club Hawaii (SMCHI) is alerting all recruiters, staffing and human resources specialists of a one-day social media boot camp on Feb. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Dave & Busters. This highly interactive lunch & learn workshop features a lively look at how recruitment, marketing and employment branding have converged and how social media is changing the world of work.
This year’s program includes open forum talk story panels and roundtable discussions.
Participants can join the conversation during two interactive panel discussions that will answer the most pressing questions in social media. Social media thought leaders from Kinoshita Communications, Kane’ahanui Management Consulting and Bank of Hawaii will discuss the key elements of a successful social media strategy in an open forum led by MK Despe Consulting. Panelists from Success Advertising, Island Insurance and KR Design will look at how to choose the right social media platform with a real-time demo of LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ in a lively talk story format.
The program is facilitated by SMCHI President Gwen Woltz with SMCHI board member Sylvia Dahlby serving as program director.
During the roundtable discussions, participants will learn how local leaders are using social media in a collaborative, conversation-based speed-learning format. Facilitators will lead discussions of important issues including social media policy, the power of branding and recruitment, using social media for employee retention, how to design a social media recruiting campaign, how to take social to the next level with a personal touch and more.
Roundtable facilitators from the human resources, staffing & recruiting, and social media communities include Success Advertising, Makai Search, Bishop & Company, Mandara Spa, Hawaiian Airlines and a cross-section of practitioners in the local employment marketplace.
