When the weather outside is frightful, being active ain’t so delightful. It just takes motivation. Stay active with a buddy during the winter months and early spring. A partner can keep you accountable, and make activities more fun. And being active during winter doesn’t mean you have to go outdoors, or use equipment.
Shellie Pfohl is the executive director of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition.
“Running up and down the stairs in your home, being able to lift bags full of soup cans, and do some bicep curls or some basic weight training, strength training. You really can do a lot without any equipment whatsoever.”
Yoga and biking are good group activities that can help you learn new techniques. And any exercise you do keeps your mind sharp.
