(HONOLULU) – The Plaza Assisted Living (“The Plaza”), Hawaii’s largest assisted living company, today announced recent additions to the senior community’s management team to provide support to new residents (and their families) in The Plaza’s newest community, The Plaza at Waikiki – which opened in October 2015.
Among the newest additions to The Plaza at Waikiki’s management team, Beth Seymour (RN) was appointed as Director of Nursing, Sasha Dimond was named Activity Director, Ricky Eduarte was named Director of Maintenance & Housekeeping, Brian Amacher has been named Executive Sous Chef, and Bonnie McCuddin was appointed to be Business Office Manager.
Beth Seymour is an ANCC Board Certified Medical-Surgical nurse and brings many years of acute care and geriatric nursing experience her new role as Director of Nursing. Beth will oversee a nursing staff of over 50 nurses and resident care aides, and is very excited to help the residents live as independently as possible.
Prior to joining The Plaza at Waikiki, Sasha Dimond was the Activity Director at The Plaza at Mililani. While at our Mililani community, she led a strong activities department and in 2014, -Morewas awarded a Sodexo grant to create an aquaponics program for the residents to grow their own vegetables. Sasha continues to develop dynamic programs at The Plaza at Waikiki and is spearheading the creation of The Plaza Assisted Living’s first Namaste room for residents in the memory care neighborhood.
Ricky Eduarte bring over 25 years of building maintenance experience to The Plaza at Waikiki and was most recently the Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping at The Plaza at Pearl City. Prior to joining The Plaza Assisted Living, Ricky was chief engineer at one of Hawaii’s busiest hospitals, but has also worked in the hotel, commercial, and residential industries.
Brian Amacher has been with The Plaza Assisted Living since 2012 and has worked in the food service industry for over sixteen years. He has completed the American Culinary Federation’s Apprenticeship Program and is trained in classical French cuisine. Brian has been highly influenced by Hawaii’s culinary style and ingredients, and looks forward to sharing his recipes with the residents at The Plaza at Waikiki.
As Business Office Manager, Bonnie McCuddin will oversee the concierge desk, accounting, and human resources for the community. She comes to The Plaza at Waikiki with many years of experience in administration and human resources, and has worked in a variety of fields including community health, housing, insurance, and senior care.
“We are fortunate to have found such caring and enthusiastic individuals to join our management team”, Colby Takeda (The Plaza at Waikiki’s Administrator) said in announcing the recent hires. Takeda added, “Each of them come with a unique set of talents and experiences, and together, we are able to develop high quality programs and empower our employees to make a significant difference in the lives of our residents and their families”.
The Plaza at Waikiki can accommodate up to 170 residents, offering a variety of programs, including Independent and Assisted Living, Memory Care (for residents suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia), and a short-term Respite Care option.
