(Kauai) – Maluhia Road, from the Tree Tunnel to the Ala Kino‘iki junction, will be closed on Saturday, July 11, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The road closure will allow community groups to do their annual clean-up of the “Gateway to the South Shore” in preparation for the 30th annual Kōloa Plantation Days.
In addition, the Roads Division will be doing some edge line striping.
During the closure, traffic will be diverted to Piko, Ōma’o and Kōloa roads.
Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all traffic signs.
The Tree Tunnel beautification project is spearheaded by the Po’ipū Beach Resort Association (PBRA) and the Kōloa Plantation Days in partnership with other community organizations.
Anyone that would like to participate in the clean-up can call PBRA at 742-7444.
