(Hawaii)–This week should be a nice, quiet and enjoyable weather week. High pressure to the north should relax the trades some and the winds will not be as gusty for Tuesday and Wednesday. Mostly sunny skies by midweek, then those winds turn more southerly and we could see haze and humidity by the end of the work week.
Daytime highs for the next several afternoons will be in the upper 70s and low 80s, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.
Plan ahead – the Lyrid meteor shower starts April 16th and runs thru the 25th, peaking on the night of April 21st. This is one of the better meteor showers because you can see up to 20 meteors per hour. It is rare (but does happen), sometimes you can see up to 100 meteors per hour. There will be no moon in the sky on the night of the 21st making for a nice dark sky for meteor watching.
