(Honolulu) – Students of the Kapi’olani Community College International Café, Intercultural Service Learning Pathway are coordinating a Nepal Earthquake Relief Program, “Action with Compassion: Share Your Heart With Nepalese Flute” performed by Ram B. Kumar and Dr. Anna Sitrr. The Program will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from noon – 3:00p.m. at Kapi`olani CC Cafeteria entry way.
Kapi`olani CC students of the International Café, the national award-winning intercultural service learning pathway, will coordinate the making and signing of the Boy’s Day Carp, Koinobori, which will be sent to Nepal with the donation.
All proceeeds will go directly to the American Nepal Medical Foundation for the needy. The American Nepal Medical Foundation is an organization run by Nepali doctors working in the United States and some of their American colleagues. The group has been working in Nepal since 1976 and has a positive reputation for providing emergency aid. Members of the organization are working together with Real Medical Foundation to get supplies sent to Nepal. They just reeived a customs exemption for their shipments from the Nepal government. The combined efforts of these organizations will be efficient and effective.
