(LĪHU‘E) – Christmas trees are being accepted for recycling daily except on holidays at County of Kaua‘i green waste drop-off areas.
The Hanalei, Hanapēpē, Kapa‘a, and Līhu‘e refuse transfer stations are open for Christmas tree recycling from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The Kekaha Landfill is also available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A drop-off point for the trees is also located at Kaua‘i Nursery and Landscaping (KNL) on Kaumuali‘i Highway in Puhi seven days a week. Trees can be loaded on to the truck parked in the KNL driveway.
The trees must be bare and free of flocking, tinsel, and ornaments when brought to all recycling locations.
