(LĪHU‘E) – The Kaua‘i Police Department and Life’s Choices Kauai are teaming up to collect unused or expired prescription medication and other drugs on Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.at KPD headquarters, 3990 Ka‘ana St. in Līhu‘e.
Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms of medication – prescription or nonprescription – including patches, are accepted. New or used needles and syringes, and liquid forms are not accepted.
This service is free and anonymous, and no questions will be asked.
The Drug Take Back program ispart of a national initiative coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) which focuses on providing a safe, convenient, and responsible method of disposing medications, while also educating the community about the potential for abuse and consequences of improper storage and disposal.
