(Honolulu)– Free workshops on technology and today’s digital lifestyle are offered at the fourth annual GEEK DAY @ LEEWARD on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Leeward Community College, from 9:30 am-3:00 pm.
The College offers free hands-on workshops and demonstrations on a variety of digital, mobile and technology topics, from social media and cloud computing to digital photography and video. The sessions are designed for the general public, with several sessions geared specifically to educators, small businesses and non-profits.
All activities are free and open to the public. Workshops include both Mac and Windows platforms.
Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for registration, with the first session beginning at 9:30 am.
Door prizes include an iPod Nano, iTunes & Amazon gift cards and more.
Geek Day also offers a Digital Café, where you can discover new apps for mobile devices, see demos of Windows 8 and GoDaddy.com, join discussions on social media or simply ask college staff a tech question.
For the Photography sessions, participants are asked to bring their own camera.
Lunch will be available from several food vendors on site.
