Menehune Basketball Tryouts Being Held This Week

(Maui)– Menehune Basketball tryouts are being held for Maui youth in grades 6-8 beginning this week through Friday, November 8. Players must try out for either the district that he/she resides in or the district in which his/her school is located. The date, time and location of the tryouts vary for each district.

Tryouts for the Kahului area of the Central Maui District will be held in the War Memorial Gym. Girls’ tryouts will be held from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. on October 28^th to October 31^st and from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on November 1^st.  Boys’ tryouts will held from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. on November 1^st and from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. from November 4^th to November 7^th. The Central District areas of Wailuku, Waikapu, Waiehu and Waihee will have tryouts in the Wailuku Gym. Girls will be from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on October 28^th, 29^th and 30^th, as well as, November 1^st and November 4^th. Boys will follow from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. on the same dates. East District tryouts will be held in the Eddie Tam Gym. Girls will be from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on October 28^th, 29^th and 30^th, as well as, November 4^th and 5^th. Tryouts for West District will be held from October 28^th until November 1^st from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Girls will be at Lahainaluna High School outdoor courts and boys will be at Malu Ulu O Lele courts. For more information, please contact Alvin Kametani of DPR West District office at ph. 661-4685.

The South District will be holding the first day of tryouts at the Lokelani School court. Boys will begin on October 28^th from 3:30 p.m. Girls will begin on October 29^th from 3:30 p.m.  For more information, please contact Todd Richter of DPR South District office at ph. 879-4533.
