(Maui) – The Department of Public Works Highways Division, Pavement Preservation Section, will be conducting a slurry seal and restriping project on Napilihau Street in Napili beginning Monday, June 5, 2017.
The project, which is expected to be completed by Friday, June 16, 2017, will be split into four phases and will require lane closures and detours. Motorists are asked to follow all traffic control signs and flag personnel.
During work hours (Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather-permitting), traffic will flow in one direction on Napilihau Street down (makai) toward Lower Honoapiilani Road; traffic coming from Lower Honoapiilani Road will not be allowed to turn onto Napilihau Street from either direction.
As the project moves along Napilihau Street, access to homes in the subdivision will alternate between Hanawai Street and Kohi Street. Access to Napili Plaza will also alternate between the entrances on Napilihau and Hanawai streets. Residents at Napili Villas and Napili Villages will need to use the alternate entrance and exit on Honoapiilani Highway.
The right-hand turn lane from Honoapiilani Highway onto Napilihau Street from the Kapalua direction is expected to be closed Wednesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 8.
The Pavement Preservation Section thanks the public for their cooperation and apologizes for the inconvenience. For more information, call Scott Matsumoto at ph. 270-7446.
