(Hawaii)– Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home is proud to announce their plans for National Skilled Nursing Care Week, which takes place May 13th-17th. Plans include Taco Tuesday, a volunteer appreciation cookout and more.
“We are honored to care for our veterans, and we recognize the hard work and dedication of our skilled staff,” said Yukio Okutsu Administrator David R. Pettijohn, “To be a part of an environment that not only provides the best quality care, but also improves the quality of life for our clients on a daily basis is a great thing, and we want to show our appreciation to our staff.”
The week kicks off with a continental breakfast and hot chocolate bar on Monday, with entertainment provided by Jeff Linsky. Taco Tuesday will have tacos and virgin margaritas, with a dessert social being held on Wednesday. Thursday the facility will host a volunteer appreciation cookout with an Ohana Day celebration on Friday, featuring the Original Big Island Shave Company.
In 2019, National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) will focus on living soulfully. The week will celebrate skilled nursing centers, and their residents and staff, by showcasing how they achieve happy minds and healthy souls. This coming May, show us how you Live Soulfully.
