(Kauai)– It didn’t take long for Kaua’i visitors with mobile devices to discover the Kaua’i Festivals Mobile website. The new website was launched on September 24th and already it has received a lot of hits.
“With a growing number of people that use their mobile devices to do research while on vacation, we thought it makes perfect sense to utilize this technological tool and make it easier for our “on-island” visitors to find festivals, events and things to do on Kaua’i,” said George Costa, director of the Office of Economic Development.
Currently, 26 percent of those who access the Kaua’i Festivals website do so with a mobile device, which represents a 200 percent increase compared to last year.
“The Kaua’i Visitors Bureau (KVB) has made an effort to tie in Kaua’i festivals and events into our marketing plan, and welcomes this new tool to reach our visitors on their mobile devices,” said Sue Kanoho, KVB executive director.
Visitors who go to the Kaua’i Festivals website with a mobile device are redirected to the mobile-optimized version found at http://m.kauaifestivals.com/.
The mobile site has a scrolling list of current events that is organized by month, and the current month automatically loads into the user’s browser window.
If a user seeks more information about a festival or event, he or she can check out the details page. A separate link for recurring events is also available.
The Kaua’i Festivals Mobile website is compatible with mobile tablets, Android cell phones and iPhones.
The new website was designed by Tsunami Marketing in partnership with the County of Kaua’i, Kaua’i Visitors Bureau, and the Hawai’i Tourism Authority.
