(Waialua)- Warrior Dash is a fierce 5K running event that challenges and welcomes all athletic abilities. In 2013, more than 50 events in the US and Canada, will allow participants to enter the Battleground and conquer 12 obstacles over more than three miles of extreme terrain. Once they reach the finish line, participants earn their Warrior title.
This year, Warrior Dash brings fresh and exciting additions to the event, ensuring that the course and festival area offer new experiences for both first-time participants and seasoned Warriors. The course will debut never before seen obstacles that will test every Warrior on the Battleground. The festival area will feature live music, craft beers, gourmet Warrior grub and the one-of-a-kind party atmosphere our Warriors love.
“Warrior Dash is excited to be celebrating its five-year anniversary of challenging participants to the craziest frickin’ day of their lives,” says Race Director Rachel Brinda. “We will continue to create an experience Warriors will never forget with our demanding obstacles and one-of-a-kind festival area.”
Warriors not only tackle obstacles along the course; they run to make a difference. Warrior Dash is excited to continue its partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2013. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. Warriors who raise over $300 for St. Jude will gain exclusive access to a VIP area on site complete with private showers, catering and a private lounge. In 2012, Warrior Dash participants raised more than $4.4 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Warrior Dash has partnered with USAgain, a leading shoe recycling company, that encourages participants to bring surplus shoes from closets at home, as well as recycle race shoes at the USAgain tent located near the finish line. Shoes collected at Warrior Dash will be given a second life by people around the world. USAgain will also make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for this Warrior Dash event.
