(Honolulu)– The Hawaii Symphony Orchestra (HSO) announced today that John Sutton has been named director of finance. He is responsible for managing the orchestra’s finances, budgeting, reporting, government compliance and human resources.
“John brings with him a wealth of experience from both his business acumen and active community involvement,” said HSO Executive Director Jonathan Parrish. “The Hawaii Symphony Orchestra will surely benefit from his leadership as we remain focused on planning for upcoming seasons while ensuring financial stability and growth.”
Sutton previously held positions as a chief financial officer at Atlas Sales Company in Kapolei, and executive vice president and chief financial officer at Starr Siegle Communications before later becoming a partner and chief operating officer. He is also the former president of Elyte Pacific ATM Services. Sutton is a licensed certified public accountant and he lives in Kailua.
Sutton’s community activities include serving in board positions or participation in the following organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Association of Advertising Agencies, Arthritis Foundation Hawaii Branch, Arthritis Foundation of Southern California Chapter, AYSO commissioner and soccer coach, Financial Executives International Hawaii Chapter, Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants, Hawaii Society of Corporate Planners, Institute of Management Accountants, St. Augustine Education Foundation, St. John Vianney School, and West Honolulu Rotary Club.
