(Hawaii)– From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, I’m Ira Dreyfuss with HHS HealthBeat.
You can keep tabs on the family’s health history on a tablet. The Surgeon General’s My Family Health Portrait lets you gather your relatives’ health issues in one place, so you can get a heads-up on conditions that the family is prone to, such as hereditary problems, in time to act on them. The portrait access is on the Web, and it’s now optimized for tablets.
Acting Surgeon General Boris Lushniak says Thanksgiving is also National Family Health History Day:
“We ask people expand the conversation a little bit. We ask people to be able to be talk openly about health issues in the family.”
To get it, search for My Family Health Portrait and click on the tool.
The tool is secure, so the only people who can see the portrait are those you want to share it with.
