(LĪHU‘E) – The Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA) will be hosting “Mauka to Makai Bully Free Kaua‘i – Kupuna to Keiki,” a symposium that promotes kindness and encourages ending bullying, at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
The symposium will feature a community resource fair with vendors offering services for kupuna and keiki, a Wilcox Elementary School Creative Arts program, as well as information on the AEA’s “EnhanceFitness Exercise.” Additionally, A Room To Grow Preschool will perform at the event.
Kalani Flores, vice principal for Kapa‘a Middle School, will be the event’s keynote speaker.
Breakout sessions will feature a talk on elder abuse, a rock painting demonstration by Hale Opio, and advocates will talk about their experiences with bullying.
